Seagrove Pre-Conference Artist

Takuro Shibata is a potter and the director of Starworks Ceramics and Material Research. He holds a degree in chemical engineering from Doshisha University in Kyoto. His background includes technical ceramic research including firing, developing and testing of clays and glaze. He has been a ceramics technical instructor at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Shigaraki Japan and has been a resident artist at the Peters Valley Crafts Education Center in Layton, NJ and the Cub Creek Foundation in Appomattox in VA.
