Joe Molinaro

Plenary Speaker, Panelist, and Demonstrating Artist

Joe Molinaro has been conducting research in South America for over 26 years and has produced a book on this research (Mythical Figures and Mucawas, 2014) with colleagues Richard Burkett and Nan Coffin.  A recipient of two Fulbright Awards in Ecuador, he has written extensively on this research and is also the producer of two ceramic video documentaries (Jatun Molino, an Amazonian Pottery Village/1996, and Jatumpamba, an Andean Pottery Village/2003).

Joe received his BS degree in Art from Ball State University and later his MFA degree in Art from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.  He taught at Broward Community College in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and at Eastern Kentucky University where he is now Professor Emeritus.  He is also the author of the book A Pottery Tour of Kentuckyand regularly contributes writings on aspects of the ceramic arts for various national and international ceramic publications.  He served as Program Director for the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA/2005-09).
