Photographer turned ceramic artist, Aarti Manik started her journey in clay with Hanif Galwani, a traditional potter in Dharavi, Mumbai. In 2014 she joined the 7 month course taught by Sarah Camille Wilson at Golden Bridge Pottery (GBP), a studio established by Deborah Smith and Ray Meeker in Pondicherry in 1971. In 2016, she spent 6 months as an apprentice to Penny Simpson, a slipware potter in Devon (UK). Since her return to India, she has been teaching and working at Golden Bridge Pottery.
