Luke Sheets is an Associate Professor of Art and Design at Ohio Northern University. Born and educated in Ohio, he has lived for an extended time both in Vermont and Japan. Luke has traveled extensively-- Germany, Denmark, Guatemala, Korea, Botswana-- both professionally and with his family. For most of his 30 years of working with clay, his focus has been on utilizing the wood kiln to finish his work. Luke enjoys the technical challenges of creating work for atmospheric firings, and draws inspiration from the process as well as the results. In addition to his work as a teacher and maker, Luke enjoys spending time with his family and dog, baking sourdough bread, and watching rugby.
