Lars Voltz fired his first wood kiln in the Spring of 2009 at Mill Creek Pottery with Simon Levin. This lead, non-linearly, to study with Ted Adler and Brenda Lichman at Wichita State University. This program, coupling international experience and rigorous engagement, expanded his curiosities and gave him solid foundations to explore. Returning to Mill Creek as an apprentice in 2014, Voltz traveled to China, building kilns at the China Academy of Arts in Hangzhou. For the last two years Voltz has been a Long Term Resident Artist at the Red Lodge Clay Center.
