Juss Heinsalu is an Estonian artist and organizer, creating siteresponsive installations and performative acts with raw clay. His work is an investigation of materials that reveal the relationship between the body and clay / human and land. The work evokes the passage of time, the exchange of elements, and the reconciliation and healing that is activated by the experience of touch. He has studied at Estonian Academy of Arts, Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Germany, and NSCAD University in Canada. He has participated in various projects and exhibitions in USA, Germany, Denmark and Spain, including the 2nd European Woodfire Conference 2014. Heinsalu is currently one of the main organizers of Kohila Symposium.
