Featured Fire-Sculpture Visiting Artist and Lecturer
Ingrid Allik is a ceramic artist and educator in Estonia. She graduated from Estonian State Art Institute in 1981 and received MA in Ceramics in 2004. Ingrid has worked as a designer for industry and has held various positions at Estonian Academy of Art since 1987, including the head of the Ceramics Department for a number of years. She continues to teach as a docent since 2000.
Ingrid has participated in a number of workshops and residencies worldwide but she is especially influenced by Japanese culture and prefers Raku firing to finish her work. In 2010 Ingrid was invited as a visiting artist to the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park. The same year she published a book “Raku. The Formation and Experience" which is now used in schools as a textbook.
Ingrid is fluent in all types and temperature ranges of firing and she is lucky to be able to collaborate on various types of firings.
