Hervé Rousseau has lived and worked in Boisbelle, near the historic village of La Borne, France since 1981. There, he uses brut primary materials and a large 3 chambered kiln to produce an immense body of work known for its energy, directness and unfettered approach. He is one of the country’s best-known living ceramists , with an established international reputation. His pieces are in the collections of institutions across Europe, including the Musee National de la Céramique Sèvresand the Musee des Arts Décoratifsin Paris, and the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich. He has been a member of the International Academy of Ceramics since 2010.
